CARING FOR YOUR SKIN
* Wash your skin with a mild cleanser, once in the morning and once in the evening and after heavy exercise. DO NOT SCRUB! Scrubbing will not improve acne, in fact, it can make the problem worse by breaking the skin's protective layer and letting more acne causing bacteria invade your skin. Thoroughly rinse your skin after washing. Don't wash anymore than this as this causes excessive dryness.

*Do not use an astringent. Use a clean wash cloth to gently exfoliate your skin and open the pores.

* Shampoo your hair daily with a clear shampoo. Shampoos which are "pearlized" in appearance (make your hair shine) will oftentimes clog your pores

*Don't pick it! Don't pop it! Don't squeeze it! This leads to increase inflammation and increased outbreaks.

* Use a water based or non-comedogenic sunscreen always.

* Although a tan will temporarily hide the acne, it is not beneficial for your skin. Sunlight damages the skin and increases the aging process as well as tightening pores, which causes clogging.

*Exercise. Exercise will increase your blood  circulation and bring more oxygen to your major organs including your skin.

*Get your sleep. The more sleep you get, the better you'll feel. This in turn reduces stress, which in turn will help reduce acne breakouts.

*Proper care is necessary. No matter what special acne treatments you may have or currently be doing, you must continue proper skin care until the tendency to have acne has passed. There is no instant or permanent cure for acne, but it is controllable, and proper care may prevent scarring.
